Phishing Alert – Fake Parking Fine Texts

🚨 Phishing Alert – Fake Parking Fine Texts

We’re seeing a rise in reports of fraudulent text messages claiming to be from local authorities or parking services. These messages typically:

  • Claim you owe a parking fine.

  • Include a link to make a payment.

  • May appear urgent or threatening.

  • ⚠️ Do not click on any links or provide payment details.

If you receive such a message:

  • Do not respond.

  • Forward it to 7726 – this is a free service provided by mobile networks to report spam texts. It helps them block the sender and protect others. To date 31k+ scams have been removed using the 7726.

  • Report it to Action Fraud.

  • Delete the message.

  • Legitimate parking fines will never be issued via text message with payment links. Stay vigilant and please share this warning with friends and family.
