Day of Action - Retail and Business Crime

Hello Resident,

Officers from the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team will be out in force today (Wednesday 14 May) as part of a dedicated Day of Action aimed at tackling retail and business crime in partnership with local businesses, retailers and community stakeholders.

This proactive initiative will see officers engaging directly with store owners, employees, and shoppers to raise awareness of business-related crime, provide crime prevention advice and gather intelligence.

The operation will focus on deterring shoplifting, anti-social behaviour, assaults on staff and organised retail theft – issues that continue to affect the safety and well-being of local business communities.

Sergeant Smith from the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Retail and business crime has a real impact on local economies and the people who work hard to keep them running. Our Day of Action shows our commitment to standing with businesses and making our high streets and shopping areas safer for everyone.”

Activities planned include:

• High-visibility patrols in key retail zones

• Engagement with retail and business premises offering crime prevention advice

• Enforcement action where offences are identified

The day is part of a wider effort to strengthen relationships between police, businesses and partner agencies to create a more resilient commercial environment.
