Wiltshire Police have recently been called to reports of legal wildlife traps being damaged on private land. We encourage anyone who locates a trap and has concerns about its legality to photograph it and seek advice from an organisation such as British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), the National Gamekeepers Association, or speak to the police about their concerns. Anyone who damages a trap that is legally being used is liable to prosecution for criminal damage. More information about the use of Larsen traps and General Licence (GL33) conditions can be found on the Government website. |
