Anybody who witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 109 of today (29/11). We are encouraging residents to continue to be vigilant for unexpected vehicles in the area, and to take precautionary steps to keep your property secure and make it more difficult for burglars to break in. Here are some key tips: Burglars target windows as they can offer easier access than doors. Check how your windows look from the outside, removing potential access points where you can.If you can, fit burglar alarms with flashing lights and sounders at the front & back of your property.Make sure side and back gates are secure.Properties with the WIDE security combination ‑ Window locks, Indoor lights on a timer, Double or deadlocked doors, and External lights on a timer or sensor – are less likely to be targeted by burglars than those with no security. If you have high value items such as jewellery, watches, passports, credit cards, computer data and identification documents, you may want to consider storing them in a safe.Use UV or indelible pens, postcode etching or chemically coded systems to mark your property & make it difficult for thieves to sell it on.For more advice, visit Crime prevention advice | Wiltshire Police |
