Can you help recover these 18th century railings?

On the evening of 9 July 2024, unknown persons stole six metal handrail pieces from Advanced Metal Treatments, Engineers Road, West Wilts Trading Estate, Westbury.

The six sections of railing were valued at approximately £5000 and are of historical significance as they date from the 18th century and had been removed from Hurst Castle, Hampshire, for repair and refurbishment.

The railings have 25mm uprights that are very corroded in places and the top handrail bar is 40mmx20mm half round. They have been made to go up stairs as can be seen in the photo of them at Hurst Castle.

West Wilts Trading Estate has many business that may use CCTV and we would ask them, especially within Engineer Road, to check for any unusual activity on the evening of 9 July.

If you have any information about who stole these items or know of their whereabouts, please report and quote reference 54240084597.
